Stormwater Consulting, Inc. (SCI) is a civil engineering and environmental sciences firm that specializes in the design and analysis of stormwater-related infrastructure.  Our practice strives to reduce environmental impacts by focusing on the control, conveyance, reduction, and treatment of stormwater runoff through a wide variety of stormwater practices and natural design techniques.

Founded in 2002, we are committed to stormwater management, water resources, and environmental science as a specialty and primary business. We understand and are sensitive to the needs of our clientele, whether they are public entities, commercial landowners, other consulting firms, attorneys, or non-profit organizations. Because we work side-by-side with a our affiliated construction firm, Stormwater Maintenance, LLC, our knowledge of both design and construction is broad, relying on a practical approach.  The results of our daily real-world maintenance and construction experience constantly influences our designs, methodology, and project execution. SCI staff is very experienced in the design of integrated stormwater practices, commonly referred to as: Low Impact Development (LID), Environmental Site Design (ESD), and Green Infrastructure (GI).  Considered national experts, we have trained other design professionals  throughout the United States on efficient techniques to design integrated practices.  We are also well known for our work in the emerging issues of maintenance and repair of existing stormwater infrastructure.

SCI’s focus and commitment to stormwater issues extends to giving back to the communities we serve by being involved and supporting numerous non-profit organizations including Blue Water Baltimore, Chesapeake Stormwater Network, Waterfront Partnership, Center for Watershed Protection, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Wetlands Watch, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy, among others.
