Project Description
SMC constructed an outfall stabilization system in a residential area to protect and restore an actively eroding tributary of the Little Patuxent River. SMC staff installed stone boulder sills and pools in sequence to provide a stable conveyance of flow from the upstream stormwater inlets. Through the use of a series of plunge pools and boulder sills, the project will reduce erosion within the channel and thereby limit the amount of sediment, phosphorus and nitrogen entering the river.
