Project Description

SMC was contracted with the Center for Watershed Protection to complete a multifaceted stormwater retrofit project at a natural resources management area that included a variety of stormwater treatment best management practices (BMPs) to reduce runoff and pollution to Big Elk Creek in Elkton, MD. SMC’s scope of work included the installation of two (2) regenerative stormwater conveyance systems, two (2) bioretention facilities, a permeable paver parking lot, and three offline infiltration zones including a meadow infiltration area.

Multiple SMC Construction Crews completed significant amounts of demolition of antiquated infrastructure, installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls, site grading, and installation of the BMPs.
